What is Pilates
1:1 Pilates offers a highly personalised approach to cultivating strength, control, and fluidity in the body. Rooted in precise movement education, it provides a structured yet exploratory framework for improving overall function, enhancing performance, and deepening your understanding of how your body works. In this setting, Pilates becomes far more than exercise—it becomes a detailed conversation between awareness, structure, and movement.

At its core, 1:1 Pilates is a process of embodied learning. As awareness deepens, movements become clearer and more confident. You begin to feel the coherence of the whole body—how effort can be distributed more evenly, how unnecessary tension can soften, and how movement can express both stability and freedom.

Whether your intention is rehabilitation, optimisation, or personal exploration, 1:1 Pilates helps you cultivate the capacity to move with integrity and vitality. It is an invitation to know your body more fully—and to experience what becomes possible when movement and understanding align.

How I Teach

My approach to Pilates is informed by extensive clinical experience in osteopathy, rehabilitation, and human anatomy. This means every session is guided by a deep understanding of biomechanics, tissue behaviour, breath dynamics, and the interplay between strength, endurance, stability and mobility. Whether you are recovering from an injury, refining athletic performance, or simply seeking to move with more ease, the work is shaped around your unique patterns, goals, and capacities.

We use the Reformer, mat work, small apparatus, free weights, and functional training principles to build strength where it is needed, create suppleness where there is restriction, and develop movement that feels integrated, efficient, and expressive.
Through this process, you learn to recognise how different layers of the body—muscular, fascial, neurological, and emotional—interact to create your experience of movement.

1:1 Pilates is collaborative, responsive, and deeply educational. You are not simply instructed through exercises; you are guided to understand why certain patterns appear, how specific movements influence the body, and what supports long-term change. This framework empowers you to develop a more refined relationship with your body, making you an active participant in the process rather than a passive recipient.
Who I Work With
For those looking to optimise performance—whether in daily life or in athletic pursuits—Pilates offers a method for enhancing precision, coordination, and endurance without sacrificing balance or ease. It refines the subtleties of how you move: how you organise your spine, how your breath informs stability, how your limbs integrate with your centre, and how your body adapts under load. In this way, optimisation becomes less about pushing harder and more about moving smarter.

Sessions can also support those navigating chronic patterns, postural challenges, or residual tension. Pilates provides a platform for reorganising movement from the inside out, enabling long-term resilience through gradual, mindful progression. Each programme is tailored to your needs and evolves with you, allowing your body to develop strength and adaptability that continues beyond the studio.
